Time To Get Used to Things..

Tristan found himself wandering into the Commons of his new house, running a hand through his short hair in an idle sort of way. It didn't surprise him that no one was occupying any of the empty seats at the moment, but he shrugged. He didn't exactly like being alone because that meant boredom, but he figured someone should show up eventually.. hopefully.

Picking one of the over-sized armchairs near the crackling fire, he tossed his legs over one of the arms, his back up against the other one. Glancing up to the ceiling as he lounged, he began counting the seconds that passed. Anything to rid the daunting silence.

Casey walked into the Hufflepuff commons. She didn't know where to go. She looked around and saw someone sitting in a chair. She walked over to them. She sat down in the chair next to them. She saw it was Tristan. "Hey Tristan. How's it going?" she asked. The common room was empty, plain and silent. It seemed so quite. There were a few people but not many.

Tristan continued to lounge across the arm chair, a yawn escaping past his ajar lips. His hands were resting on his toned abdomen, and his eyes were just about to side closed in boredom when he heard the floor of the Commons creaking.

Lazily opening one eye, he watched as the familiar looking face approach him. As she took a seat opposite of him, he remembered her from the store. If he hadn't been mistaken, her name was... Casey? He didn't sit up from his comfortable position, but he did open his other eye and offer her a lazy upturn if his lips.

"Hey Casey." He mused in reply, his tone friendly."It's going alright. Just.. boring." He chuckled as he stated the obvious, but soon shrugged lightly."How about you?"

Tristan looked over at Casey. "Hey Casey. It's going alright. Just.. boring." he chuckled, "How about you?" he asked. Casey shrugged. "Its going pretty good. Yea it is kinda boring. Can't wait for classes to start. That'll at least give me something to do." she said. She looked around the room. She hated the quiet. She grew up with an older brother and a big family, she was used to noise. The quiet, well, it just annoyed her.

He watched as she shrugged before answering her, nodding vaguely when she told him that it was going good. Hearing her say she couldn't wait for classes caused his brow to arch a bit in question, but then he realized, not everyone disliked school work like himself. "Yeah.. sitting around all the time can get really boring." He agreed, considering he was already getting sick of it. But what could he do? Of course entertain himself, just how, he had just to figure out.

Tristan noticed Casey looking around the room as the silence once more settled, and he wondered if the quiet bothered her just as much as it bothered him. Finally getting around to pushing himself up into a proper sitting position, his green eyes fell on her face. "So.." He began, searching for a topic of conversation. "Tell me about yourself? All that I know is that you like pranks." He cracked a grin.

Tristan sat up and looked at Casey. "Tell me about yourself? All that I know is that you like pranks." he smiled. Casey smiled back. "Well, I have an older brother, out of Hogwarts. A 4 year old sister. My dad works partime at Weasleys Wizard Weezes. Since he practically grew up there. My
Mom works at St. Mungo's as a healer. My brother is at the Ministry. And I, I love to fly, play pranks," she smiled, "reading and music." she said. "So what about you?"

Tristan took time to get himself comfortable in his new position before he turned his attention back over toward Casey, catching her smile and listening as she began to answer his question. He nodded every now and again to make sure she knew he was listening, although he had a tendancy to appear as if he wasn't. They had most things in common..

When she reversed the question, he paused for a moment to consider what he was going to say. "My mother and father are both bigshots, I have a younger sister who attends the school I just transfered from. I have two cousins that attend here also, Leyton and Luca Lestrange.." He figured that was enough about his family, so he switched gears much like she had. "I like to prank, joking around, just generally causing trouble, and eating." He smirked. How interesting was he? Not..

Casey listened to Tristan. "Thats cool. My cousin Fallon goes here." she said. IT seemed that they had some things in common. Casey sat there in the chair. "So, what classes are you taking this year?"she asked.

Tristan nodded vaguely when she mentioned her cousin. "My two cousins Leyton and Luca go here too." He replied, wondering if she'd even know who they were. He thought he knew who Fallon was.. "Your cousin. She's Head Girl, right?" If so, then he knew exactly who she was. And it wasn't a bad thing either.. he just tended to know more people then he realized.

Pausing to consider what classes he was taking, he glanced upward before speaking. "Tranfiguration and Charms." He had decided not to take a lot, because not only wasn't he a huge fan of school work.. well. He'd save more classes for his higher years. "How about you?"

"Your cousin. She's Head Girl, right?" Tristan asked. Casey nodded. "Yep, she is." she said. Then Casey listened as he said what classes he was taking. "me, I'm taking a lot of classes. Care of Magical Creatures, Tranfiguration, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Dueling, Flying,Physical Fitness,
Potions, Herbology, and History of Magic" she said. "I just wanna make sure that I have things to fall back on if I don't do well in some classes" she explain. She wasn't the best in any class so she wanted to have backups.

Tristan nodded in return, happy to know that he'd correctly identified her cousin. Although Casey had him blinking in surprise when she listed all the classes she was taking. "Uh.. way to make me feel like a slacker." He said with a small smirk, of course he was partially joking. But when she went and rattled off her classes like that, it made him feel slightly like a fool for taking a mere two. Oh, well.

"Yeah, that makes sense. Smart idea." He said with a slight nod when she explained why she was taking so many classes. That was an actually very good idea.. eh. Now he knew next year, he'd be doubling the number of classes he'd be taking. Thank you, Casey, for showing me the error to my ways. He chuckled to himself at his thoughts.

. "Uh.. way to make me feel like a slacker" tristan said. Casey smiled sheepishy. "Sorry." she said. She knew that he was joking. At least he sounded like it. "I just don't do well in most classes so I picked a lot so I would be able to at least have a shot at something" she explained. Well at least they would possibly be in two of the same classes.
