Stopping For a Drink

Walking into the much-familiar place, he found himself wandering up toward the bar, ordering himself a drink. While he wasn't usually a heavy drinker, today, he just needed one in order to relax. Picking it up and taking a sip, he sighed happily before sliding onto one of the bar stools.

Hogsmeade was only open for a couple of more days, and he planned on making the best of it. Maybe he'd find someone else to pass the time with along the way.

Daliah ducked into the store relieved to have some alone time, her assistant was the only one who would get away with pestering anyone she wished, including her. Sighing she made her way over to the counter and ordered herself a drink before turning to find a table, her eyes widened slightly in surprise as she saw the Deputy Headmaster seated at one of the tables.

She had never personally met the man, however it wouldn't be proper not to know the names of the Headmistress and Deputy Headmaster of the greatest wizarding schools in Britain. She took a sip of her drink and made her way toward the table, this would be a good chance to get to know him she guessed, besides she could do with company that wasn't constantly pestering her to get her job done.

"Hello, mind if I join you?" She asked with a soft smile.

Ryan took another sip of his drink, allowing the alcohol to slip down his throat rather slowly, enjoying the slight burning of it. He deliberately placed the glass on the table top in front of him, just in time to hear an unfamiliar, female voice addressing him.

His blue eyes landed on the stranger's face quietly, but he had a friendly smile in place. That was one thing about him, no matter who you were, he was almost always open to talk. "Hello, go right ahead. I don't mind at all." He mused, gesturing at one of the empty seats with one of his hands.

"I'm Ryan Porter, by the way." He added, leaning back into the chair a bit.

Daliah gave the wizard a wide smile and slipped into one of the chairs setting her drink down onto the counter and nodded as the male introduced himself, she already knew who he was but it never hurt to make sure that it was him she was actually talking to. She gave another smile as she introduced herself "My name Daliah Rozlyn, it's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Porter" She said cheerfully before taking a sip of her drink.

Ryan watched quietly as she smiled before taking a seat, and he couldn't help but think that she looked oddly familiar. He couldn't quite figure out why though, or where he might know her from. He inwardly shrugged to himself, knowing she'd be introducing herself in less then a few seconds. He'd know then who she was.

He grinned when he heard her name, the connection finally being made. "You have a beautiful name." He commented sincerely, before nodding. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Ms. Rozlyn. Minister of Magic, right?" He knew he wasn't wrong, but it never hurt to make sure.

Daliah's smile widened as he complemented her name "Thank you Mr. Porter, I daresay you'd be the first to say that" She grinned before taking a sip from her drink, "Correct" She replied and nodded her head happily "And you are the Deputy Headmaster of Hogwarts...?" She asked making sure.

Ryan noticed her smile widening, and it only caused his own to brighten sincerely. "You're welcome, Mrs. Rozlyn," He paused for a moment, chuckling as she said he was the first to say that. "Good, I like being the first with things." He took a sip of his own drink, the grin still situated on his lips.

He nodded when she told him he was correct about who she was, and he smiled brightly again when she asked of his position. "That I am." He said happily, sitting back into his seat. "So, enjoying your job so far?" He was never one for idle chat, but in this case, it was necessary. Getting to know someone always started out this way.

Daliah grinned happily when he said he liked being first and took a sip of her butterbeer while listening to her suspicions about his position at Hogwarts. She smiled at his confirmation after swallowing and placing her drink back down on the counter.

"It's good I suppose, if you don't count all the paper work, persistent rulers, sly goblins and nagging assistants" She said wryly, casually counting off each point with her hand "But I suppose it does come with the job description" She gave the other a cheeky smile before asking "And you? How is being Deputy Headmaster?"

Quinn walked happily into the Three Broomsticks with a smile on her face, she hadn't been there in years and thought she'd finally step in. She ordered a firewhiskey and waited for the bar tender to get it for her, placing the right amount of galleons on the bar before turning around to scan the room.

Her eyes fell on the familiar and friendly face of Ryan Porter who was sitting with a women, the bar tender placed her drink down in front of her and she picked it up and took a sip as she pondered whether or not she should walk over and say hello.

Ryan felt his brow beginning to arch at her words, but soon he was laughing in amusement, matching her wry smile. "I can feel the love." He said jokingly, taking another sip of his drink before he placed it down, pushing it away from him ever so slightly. "It's.. interesting." He paused, considering his words before he continued to talk. "I meet a lot of people, and while dealing with a bunch of teenagers doesn't seem all that wonderful, I do love my job." He said this sincerely.

Glancing up as something caught his attention, he saw the familiar face of Quinn. He glanced toward Daliah before he began waving Quinn over. "I hope you don't mind me doing this." He said in a slightly apologetic tone to Daliah. He didn't want to appear rude to either of them though, and while he was enjoying his conversation and getting to know Daliah, another person to talk to wouldn't hurt, right?

Quinn knew she had caught Ryan's attention as soon as he looked up, soon enough he was waving her over. Looking between him and the girl, she shook her head. She could catch up with him later, he was already with someone. She smiled in thanks and went to go sit down somewhere else, but still in view of the handsome young man. She could look, who was going to stop her?

As she walked away, she looked back at the woman before looking back at Ryan and mouthing...[i]There is always another time,"

Daliah chuckled at Ryan's comment "Love indeed" She murmured taking a sip of her drink and listening to him answer her question, before setting her drink down on the table giving the man a nod as if confirming that she was listening. She smiled as he finished "That's good, as long as you love doing what your job then you'll be fine coping" Daliah said before watching the interaction between him and another woman she grinned shaking her head "Not at all, the more the merrier" She said as she watched him beckon the woman over. She watched a bit disappointed as the woman shook her head and walked away.
