| "Not a whole lot," Ian answered with a shrug trying to get his thoughts back on track and the blush off his face. "Just been around you know? How bout you?" | |

| "Nothing much," Patrick said. "Pretty much the same as you, except I don't have to worry bout OWL's."
Ah the joys of Sixth year. He'd worry about NEWTs next year. This year is all relaxation.

| Ian sighed at the mention of OWLs he really needed to be studying, but his heart just wasn't in it right now. He stroked his chin and contemplated doing something productive, but shook that thought away.
"By the way Pat," Ian said as a thought popped into his head, "if we can get you over your fear of flight, I'd really like to have play a game of Quidditch with me. My male pride rests on winning this bet."

| A slight sliver of fear lodged itself into his stomach when Ian mentioned flying but his curiosity was peaked when he mentioned pride and a bet.
"Okay, what bet and who did you make it with?" he asked. "Gimme details man!"
He always had wished he could play Quidditch and he thought he'd make a good chaser during that first flying session with Alli and Ian. Darn that fear of flying!

| "Do you know Jayden by any chance," Ian asked, "well he and I made a bet on who's the better player and the loser has to wear a cheerleader outfit for an entire day." Ian hoped that Pat didn't put together that Jay was the guy he was talking about earlier. Not that he wouldn't come clean eventually, but at the moment he'd keep it to himself. | |

| "No clue who you're talking about," Patrick said with honesty. He chuckled a little at the thought of Ian--as he didn't know what the other guy looked like--wearing a cheerleading outfit.
"Alright, if you can help me get past my fear of flying," Pat said, "I'll play on your team."
What had he just gotten himself into?

| Ian let out a tiny sigh of relief that Pat wasn't able to piece things together, "Great! I swa alot of potential in you that first practice. And even though you're terrified of flying you still did a damn good job."
He brushed strands of his blonde locks out of his face and smiled at Pat. "Alright meet me in the Quidditch Pitch early Saturday morning. I'll recruit a few people tp help out, but I will get you over you're fear. At least enough that you can help me with this bet."

| So soon huh? Why was it that the minute anyone mentioned the idea of flying that Patrick turned into a pool of cowardly jelly in a human mold? Oh yeah, because he fell off the stupid thing!
"When you say early," he began, "how early?"
Last thing he wanted was to be there at the crack of dawn or something.

| Ian really wanted to be out there at the sunrise and practice all day, but Saturday was the day after the full moon. No way in hell would Ian be able to force himself out of bed in time for that. "Nine sound good to you?" | |

| "Nine sounds perfect," Patrick nodded and prayed that he'd gather the courage that he had (which wasn't much in matters like these) and go out there.
"Do you know who else you might want to be on the team?" he asked, flipping his quill in-between his fingers.

| Ian nodded, "Morgaine. She's absolutely amazing, as good of a stunt flyer as I am. The two of us can fly circles around most people." | |

| "Morgaine, hey I know her," Patrick smiled at the mention of his friend. "So it'll be you, her and me? Three on three match?"
From what he knew of the sport, it was usually seven on seven.

| "Yup three-on-three," Ian said with a nod, "I'm thinking either two Chasers and a Keeper. Or one Chaser, One Keeper, and one Beater." He'd have to ask Jay which he prefered.

| "Ah," Patrick said continuing to play with his quill. This time by tossing it up and down in the air.
"Merlin I'm bored," he sighed. "Why is there there's never anything to do when you're bored?" he asked, still tossing his quill in the air.

| "You've gotta make your own fun bud," Ian said with a chuckle and a mischievious grin. "What kind of fun were you looking for." Ian may have seemed like a good boy, but every now and then he felt the urge to go and break some rules. Besides this close to the end of the school year they weren't that likely to get into a lot of trouble. | |

| "I dunno, just something to do!" Patrick sighed. "Something spontaneous, something more fun than seeing how high one can throw a quill."
As he said this, he threw his quill too high and it got caught on a shelf behind him.
"The universe does not want me having any fun today," he muttered as he got up to retrieve his quill. The shelf it was on? Transportation, flying to be precise.
"Evil universe," he grumbled as he grabbed his quill and sat back down.

| Ian laughed at PAt and was tempted to levitate his quill away from him, but decided not to be a jerk. "Like I said Pat, you've gotta make your own fun, sitting around and waiting for things to happen isn't going to make them happen."
He tore up his parchment and waved his wands over the scraps and watched as the paper folded themselves into paper cranes. He tapped his wand on the table and oll of the cranes, about twenty of them took off and flew around before bursting into flames each a different color and falling back down to the table as ash.

| Patrick thought for a minute. Get the flying practice out of the way so he wasn't dreading it on Saturday? No way. Explore the Forbidden Forest? Not on your life!
He began to toss his quill up and down again, keeping it low enough so that it didn't go flying again.
"You have any ideas?" he asked Ian, who had made some cranes and then made them fly before they burst into flames.

| Ian chuckled and grinned up at Pat, "Wanna go for a swim in the Lake?" He offered sincerely. It was just dangerous enough to be fun but safe enough that they wouldn't get in entirely too much trouble. | |

| "Sure why not?" Patrick grinned and began to put his stuff away. "It's the kind of thing that's just spontaneous enough to be fun and yet won't kill you."

| "Alright dreat," Ian said with a soft smile, "let me just go put my stuff back up in my dorm room and I'll meet you at the Lake in say 30 minutes?" | |

| "Kay," Patrick said. "Meet you there."
He could keep his stuff with him--a quill, few sheets of parchment--easily replaced.
