A walk along the water

Before he could catch her, she had come running to him and jumped into his arms.

"Oof," he said when he fell backwards into the snow. Feeling her arms around his neck, Patrick sent her a wry grin.

She asked him if it was cold where he was, and then didn't even give him a chance to respond. She gave him a kiss that sent warmth down to his fingers and toes. It was like eating chocolate, reading a new book, playing baseball...everything that one could possibly enjoy all rolled into one kiss.

He began to kiss her back, determined to leave his senses for a little while.

Merlin, I love her

That lone thought stayed in his brain. But how could he possibly come out and say it? Well, he would but not now. Now, he had more enjoyable things to not think about.

Feeling her hands run through his hair, Patrick felt like the luckiest man alive. Just the fact that he could be around Alli for so long and the feeling remained intact was enough to tell him something. Spending time with her meant everything to him; he'd do anything to just be around her.

Inhaling a bit as she pulled back, Patrick gave her a small yet goofy grin. The same grin he wore the first time they kissed, the same grin he wore when she agreed to go out with him, the same grin he wore when she agreed to be his girlfriend.

"I loved it," he said in a somewhat husky voice. Blame the hormones. "How about you?" he asked taking in her face as if it was the first time he'd ever seen it.

A shudder went through his spine as she kissed him again, though that might have been due to the snow seeping through his shirt. Goosebumps formed as she ran the tip of her tongue along his bottom lip. No matter how many times they kissed, it would always feel the same as it did when they first did and that's what he really did love about her. The fact that he could feel the same way after months of being with her.

He looked up at her and leaned up to start another kiss. Carefully, he moved one of his hands from hers and placed it on her back. Upper back to be precise. He didn't want her to roll off when he was kissing her after all.

Patrick moaned in pleasure as Alli nibbled at his neck and earlobe.

"You know it's funny," he said. "But I really hadn't noticed the snow."

It was true. There were more important things to focus on, like Alli and not completely going insane where everyone could see them. He smiled when she kissed him again but felt disappointed when she got off of him. Though he wouldn't deny the fact that he did enjoy the chance to get up. He scooted next to her though. Seeing her shiver as the wind blew, Patrick asked "Are you cold?"

Then before she could answer, he shrugged off his outermost layer jacket and put it over her shoulders. No reason for her to get sick out here though the nurse could heal anything.

He chuckled when she said that it was due to her being that good was the reason that he didn't notice the snow. Patrick wanted to protest and say that he'd be fine without his jacket but her next suggestion made him rethink his words.

"You know you're right," he nodded. "Body heat does work." He said as she began stroking the back of his hand with her thumb. Using his free hand, he gently tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear and smiled at her.

How did he get her? What did he do to deserve her? he thought. She was so amazing!

I love you

His brain could say it fine; it was getting it down to his mouth that was the problem.

"Oh you're funny," Patrick chuckled. "Everyone's a comedian." He kept his smile on his face so Alli would see that he wasn't upset with her at all. "There's a first time for everything," he shrugged. There had to be a time that he agreed with her.

"As you wish Kitten," he grinned and inhaled the sweet smell of her shampoo. The same smell from that potion in class, but he wasn't going to say anything about it. Her kiss seemed to install confidence in him, either that or seemed to unjam his brain (which was funny as they usually did the opposite.)

He didn't want to say it though. What if she didn't feel the same way? What if he ruined everything?

"Alli," he began and prayed he wasn't making a huge mistake. "I love you."

Three small words that could keep or break a relationship. Patrick hoped against hope that it would be the former for them.

"Oh, I try my best to be." She replied with a small laugh, hoping she hadn't made him upset, but with a quick glance she saw his smile, telling her that she hadn't. "True that." She added to his statement. She smirked when she heard him saying as she wished, but decided not to comment on it.

What happened in the next few moments, she honestly couldn't say she was prepared for. One moment it was all silence, and then in the next, he was saying her name. He sounded so serious, so she quickly gave him her full attention, slight concern etching across her pretty face. "Yeah?" She mused curiously, her brows pulling together slightly.

What he said next, she knew a look of shock must have crossed over her features. She blinked once, then twice. Had she heard him correctly? Just hearing him say those words made her heart leap into her throat as it began beating at a slightly faster pace, and she could feel the heat rising to her cheeks. Seeing the way he was looking at her though.. she'd definitely heard him correctly.

Realizing that she hadn't yet said anything, it was only moments later she was smiling so broadly, it made her cheeks hurt. Never had she ever thought she'd get to a point where she'd feel this way about someone at such a young age.. but she knew it was real. She could feel it, and in her heart, she knew she wanted to say it. There wasn't anything holding her back, and without a doubt in her voice, she replied, "I love you too, Pat." Her voice was soft, her eyes full of sincerity.

Without another moments hesitation, she reached up with both of her hands, taking either side of his face in them. And with that, she gave a long, firm, and passionate kiss, making sure she poured all of her emotion into it. She had never felt so amazing in her entire life..

Seeing the look of shock on her face almost made Patrick's heart break into two, but grinned when a huge grin came on to her face. It made his cheeks hurt just looking at it. Upon hearing the three magic words, a big goofy grin (very familiar) broke on to his face. But it never got the chance to live long in the world as Alli placed both her hands on either side of his face and gave him a kiss. Not like the kind they would normally give each other.

No, this was passionate enough to make his blood boil. Kissing her back just as firmly, he briefly wondered what they looked like to anyone passing by but the thought flew out of his head.

It was taking all his willpower to remember to breathe to tell you the truth. His tongue was about ready to burst out of his mouth but he slowly brought it out.

Life, life was good.

Feeling her tongue just made his mission to breathe that much harder, but made everything else just feel that much more pleasurable. His hand made its way to her back and he just embraced everything.

His brain was in a very pleasant fog and every pore of his body was alert with the pleasure he was currently feeling. The passion was new, but he loved every second of it.

Moving down a little, he began to kiss her neck tenderly but still with the passion the kiss started with. Heck, the kiss was making him moan with pleasure and that was his goal to make Alli do that!

Patrick Wood you are a lucky man, he thought and then all rational thought flew out the window.

His hair slightly damp from the snow, it just made the feeling of Alli running her fingers through it that much more pleasurable. She was now straddling his lap and had tilting her neck to allow him more access to said neck.

Her soft moan made him so happy. She was enjoying herself just as much as he was. She began to kiss him so quickly that he didn't have anytime to respond to her seductive "I love you." He did respond though, but it must have sounded muffled through the kissing.

He did mention that it felt right what they were doing? No? Well now he did. And it was.

He honestly could not remember a life without Alli in it. Well, maybe he could but it wasn't as great as his life currently was. Alli was his first girlfriend actually, and surprisingly it didn't freak him out that he felt this strongly about her.

She made him happy, happier than he'd been in years. Every time he thought about her, a tingle would come up his spine and fill him with glee. That may sound weird, but it felt normal to him.

She pulled back slowly from the kiss, and Patrick felt oxygen refill his lungs. He tried to steady his breathing just as she was, and breathed in the sweet smell of her shampoo.

What had he been thinking about before the kiss? Alli, snoging her...Merlin he had to get his thoughts focused fast. Otherwise he might go further than he'd like.

"What do you want to do now?" he asked, slightly out of breath and praying (to his disbelief) that it didn't involve snogging. He didn't trust himself right now.

Getting up as Alli tugged on his arm, Patrick wrapped his arm around her waist. He didn't want to lose all touch but he wanted to keep a safe distance. Certain things, he wanted to wait until the time was right or until Alli gave the okay. He could wait until then.

The silence filled the area and Patrick breathed in the sweet smell of the lake side with the winter air. There was nothing like it compared to Hogwarts.

After a while though, the silence was slightly overwhelming. While he did like pauses in conversation, Patrick also liked talking to people. Though the kiss they just shared had left his brain limited on things he could come up with that would be a proper conversation starter.

Chuckling a little as Alli asked what his favorite season was, Patrick thought for a minute but had to say that autumn would have to be his favorite. That was the season of rounders after all, a bit like American Baseball.

"Autumn," he told her still thinking of his favorite muggle sport. "It's got everything you look forward to about winter while still keeping a few warm days from the summer. What about you?" he asked.
